Vera Ellen Olvey Costello (1966-2003)

Vera Ellen Olvey Costello died on December 11 after a heroic, year-long battle with lung cancer. She was a non-smoker, the picture of health and physical fitness.She was born Vera Ellen Olvey in Boston on December 29, 1966. Her parents returned to West Point the following year for service on the USMA faculty, and it was there she grew up, with her sister Elisa, and her three brothers Patrick, John, and Anthony -- all very close to each other in age, and very close in spirit.After graduation from James I O’Neill High School she attended college at Pennsylvania State University and then Georgia Southern University, where she received her baccalaureate degree in 1989. She also attended Escola Americana during a year abroad in Brazil.In 1990 Vera was married to Neil Francis Costello, a native of Holyoke, Massachusetts and a USMA graduate of the Class of 1986.The defining qualities of Vera were her family and her friends. Her interests and hobbies were many, from art to decorating her home to supporting church and community activities to physical fitness, which she was passionate about. And her fitness sustained her through a long, courageous battle. However Vera’s life work, her consuming passion was her family. Vera and Neil’s marriage was blessed with three children -- John Francis, born in 1993; Christopher William, born in 1996, and Peter James, born in 1998. Vera created a joyful, supportive environment for these remarkable boys and no stone was left unturned in insuring their lives were full of fun, challenge and opportunities for development in every way.The other defining aspect of Vera’s life has been her friends. Vera attracted close and loyal friendships throughout her life. From early childhood on those friendships have all endured and those friends have all rallied in her support during the year past. She derived great comfort from those visits and calls, although it often seemed she was the strong one and the inspiration, giving comfort more than receiving it. That was Vera, and that is how she will be remembered.Vera is survived by her husband, Neil Francis Costello; her three sons John Francis, Christopher William, and Peter James; her parents Lee Donne and Mary Kathleen Olvey, her sister Elisa Penha Smalley, and her three brothers Patrick Lee Olvey, John Taylor Olvey, and Anthony Lawing Olvey.A mass will be celebrated in Incarnation Church, 55 Williamsburg Lane in Centerville on 18 December at 4:00 p.m.The funeral mass will be held at Most Holy Trinity Chapel, West Point NY at 1000 hours on December 18, followed by a graveside burial service in the West Point Cemetery. Jacqueline Clineman Conley (1967-1993)

Jacqueline Clineman Conley of Barryville, a former Stony Point resident, died of an acute asthma attack on Saturday, April 17, 1993 at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale, PA. She was 26.

She was born in Fairbanks, Alaska, on April 23, 1967 to John and Jeanne Esposito Clineman. She grew up in Stony Point and graduated from James I. O’Neill high school in Highland Falls., Orange County. She moved to Barryville several years ago. She was a waitress at the Woodlock Pines Resort in Hawley, PA.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Allen Conley, Jr.; two sons, Harry Allen III and Phillip B; two daughters, Amber Nicole and Loren Elizabeth; her parents of Stony Point; her maternal grandmother, Albine Esposito of Stony Point and her sister, Jodi Clineman of Stony Point.

A Mass of Christian Burial was said Saturday, April 24 at 10 AM at St. Anthony’s Church with a burial at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.

Carlos Soto

After high school I did a few semesters at OC Community College – and then decided to join the Army reserves, which I was in for 8 years. In 1990 I married the love of my life and best friend, Liz, and we moved down to Florida. I have been here working in the restaurant/pizza business ever since. On January 22, 1993 we were blessed with the birth of our son, CJ. He is a smart, energetic and caring kid and each day I am amazed and thankful for the gift that is my son. For the last seven years, my wife and I have owned and managed a pizzeria in St. Petersburg. In fact, the reason I cannot attend the reunion, is because my business is in the middle of a major renovation, so I am tied to the project right now. Sorry I cannot join you - have fun.

Sue Franck

After high school. I went to West Point prep - then to SUNY Cortland and then got my Masters at George Mason University in Virginia. At GMU I met my partner - Lisa. We have been together for 16 years and moved to Davis, CA 14 years ago. (As a side note, Lisa Chang/Siegler also lives in Davis). My partner and I both work in higher education at the University of California, Davis. Prior to having kids, Lisa and I enjoyed lots of traveling (France, Norway, England, Spain, and Italy). Now, we have 3 amazing boys and traveling has changed a bit. It seems like an accomplishment to say we have managed trips to Hawaii and Disneyland with kids in tow! Noah turned 10 years old on November 22, 2007 and he has 3 year old twin brothers, Michael an Eli. When I look at my life - I know that I am certainly very lucky.

David Wheeler

After graduating from O’Neill, I went to college at the University of Vermont. Following graduation from “groovy UV,” I bar tended on Catalina Island (off the coast of Los Angeles) for two summers and at a ski resort in Vermont during the intervening winter. Following my second summer on Catalina, I went to work for an accounting firm in Chicago and passed the CPA examination. I then went to law school (graduating in 1996) and worked for Arthur Andersen and Taft, Stettinius & Hollister (a large Cincinnati-based law firm) doing transactional tax and mergers and acquisitions. In 1999 I joined Eric Rennagel in founding Tivix, a “dot com” that provided online services to television and movie distribution companies. In early 2000, we raised venture capital from Silicon Valley and set up our executive offices in Beverly Hills (at the insistence of our investors – what a time!). In mid-2001, I left Tivix to join another “dot com” that ended in a spectacular train wreck. After playing in the world of “dot coms,” I went back to practicing law – this time with Squire, Sanders & Dempsey, a large international law firm – doing mergers and acquisitions. Now, I spend 85% of my time buying and selling companies, mostly in the U.S.

My wife, Jennifer, and I were married in 1997, and we currently live in Cincinnati. Our oldest, Nicholas, is going into second grade and is loving baseball, football and hockey. Our youngest, Michael, is going into kindergarten and is learning t-ball and hockey. Jennifer is in the wine industry; she is a wine consultant for a boutique distributor and sells wine to stores and restaurants. Her job is certainly more fun than mine, and the perks include meeting the owners of the vineyards when we visit Napa or Sonoma.

About me, I married Shannon conley from highland falls, we moved to Atlanta for some olympic contract work i had in 1994, then bought a house there in 1996, have 2 children 1 girl Dezarae she is 12, and 1 boy Jacob and he is 10......We moved to tennessee in the year 2000 and sold our house in atlanta, purchased a nice mtn view piece of land here in the smokey mtns and now started the construction end of it...... I was diagnosed with severe cardio myopithy, Heart muscle struggles to pump correctly, and will eventually just give out....i hope all is well with your family, and god bless to ya all..........

Sharon Savely-Lantzky

I graduated from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois with a degree in Elementary Education. I have worked in the Moline School District since 1989. I taught 4th through 6th grade for many years, served as an Elementary principal and am currently Dean of Students at Moline High School. I now suspend kids for a lot of things we did but never got caught. I earned a Masters degree from Western Illinois University. I married Jim Lantzky in 1994 and have two handsome sons, Mitchell is almost 9 and going into third grade, Joey is 6 and will start first grade in the fall. Jim works for John Deere construction in cost management. We also have a 2 year old yellow lab named Clancy that lives to swim in our pool and get scratched on the belly. We are currently working on an international adoption. I hope that next summer we will travel to China to bring home a baby girl. Sorry we can’t attend, the adoption is sapping most of resources right now.
