Georgios P. Minos

Upon graduation from OHS I moved back to NYC for about a year before joining the Navy in the spring of '86. Towards the end of my four years I met my wife Jacqueline. A year later in spring of '91 we got married and enlisted in the Coast Guard. I took couple of courses at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y. and Bunker Hill Community Collage in Massachusetts in the spring of '98 and September 2002 respectively. We have three beautiful girls ages 14,11 & 8 and are living happily in San Ramon, where I'm currently stationed and working on Coast Guard Cutter Boutwell as the Food Service Officer out of Alameda, California.

Sincerely,

Amy M. Squicciarini

Amy M. Squicciarini Highland Falls, NY

On Saturday, December 8, 2007 our loving and courageous daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Amy Marie, of Highland Falls, went to join her father after a miraculous life of 40 years.

Amy was predeceased by her father, Frank Squicciarini, and is survived by her loving and devoted mother, June, at home; her brothers and sisters, Nick & Kate Squicciarini of Highland Falls, Frank & Donna Squicciarini of Wurtsboro, Tony & Rachelle Squicciarini of Fort Montgomery, Lee Ann & Jim Ranieri of Highland Falls and Susan & Jim Hoffman of Fredericksburg, Va.; as well as many nieces and nephews; in addition to several great-nieces and nephews.

Amy's 40 years of life were enriched by her faith for God and her love for family, children and community service. Her dedication was demonstrated by her association with Time for Tots, The Nursery School of the Highlands and substitute teaching in the Highland Falls Central School District. Amy was a proud member of the Garden Club and VISION of the Town of Highlands.

One of her favorite commitments was being one of the initial contributing members of the not-for-profit organization "Do-Something". She was an active and faithful member of the Sacred Heart Parish, a committeewoman for the Democratic Party of the Town of Highlands, as well as many local, state and national political events. Amy was presented with an honorary Brick Award from Do-Something for her service to the organization by President Bill Clinton in 2005. Amy was also the recipient of the Evelyn Drew Distinguished Service Award from the Town of Highlands Democratic Committee in 2005.

This past summer, Amy celebrated the milestone of her 40th birthday with all of her family and friends, which were of the utmost importance to her in the final years of her life.

Amy's life was a true testament to the phrase, "It takes a village to raise a child." Amy's love and commitment to her community were reflected in the love and generosity that she received in return.

Amy's faith, courage, strength and perseverance inspired all who knew her to live and appreciate each day to the fullest.

Friends may call on Wednesday, December 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main Street, Highland Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, December 13 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 353 Main Street, Highland Falls, with the Rev. Jack Arlotta officiating. Interment will follow at Eagle Valley Cemetery in Town of Highlands.

In lieu of flowers, Amy has requested contributions may be made to The Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

Hey everybody! I guess it's time that I added my bio. Now I can finally rid myself of the guilt I have been feeling since Sue put so much time and effort into our reunion and this site. OK, let's see...What have I been up to since JIO??? I turned 40 this past September and it felt sooo good! I feel like the older I get the wiser I get and I love it...I have never been married, and have no children but I do have a dog and he's like my son. I have been to college quite a few times and have been working as a Respiratory Therapist, and a Paramedic for the last 14 years. I worked as Director of Lung Transplant at Columbia in Manhattan but found that I like hands on patient care much better than paperwork. I also taught for both programs at Rockland Community College for many years and now I'm taking a break from that tool I traveled to Africa in 1998 for almost a month. I was there with 5 other medics teaching. It was quite an adventure to live in the bush with the natives. Not sure I would do it again but I am a different person and I'm grateful for the experience. Soon after I came home from Africa there was the Ice Storm in Canada which I volunteered for to go and help. I was there for a week freezing my tail off and hanging out with the National Guardsmen in a Fire House. I got to drive a Hummer which was pretty cool too! Spent time at Ground Zero, needless to say that was an experience never to be forgotten.

So, I live in the area that we all (most of us) grew up in and I love the Hudson Valley. Liz and I are still best friends and see each other often. I had a great time at the reunion and look forward to the next one if Sue is willing to do it all over again...........Barb
